Kickers - Start Something!
Working closely with Grinlock, we provided the back end database integration necessary for Kickers to provide a fun interactive poster creator for their new 'Start Something' campaign.
Designed entirely in Flash, the poster creator allows visitors to create their own unique design with clip-art and virtual spray paint. This is then saved away into a database. Obviously it would take lots of server space to save each poster as a graphic, even if optimised, and with the amount of visitors Kickers receive every day, this is not a good idea.
Our system takes the location of each object an encodes them into a series of numbers which are then stored away in a database. This is far more efficient and much faster than saving large images.
When saved, the visitor has the option of emailing their poster to a friend. Again, we encode the data into a link which is embedded into an email for sending. When the recipient receives the email, they simply have to click on the link to see their friend's creation.
